Variety of different frames

You have been prescribed glasses by your optometrist after an eye test. Now what? Luckily we have a great range of frames to look at and try on. Finding the perfect frames for your face shape is very important in considering a frame that looks good on you – after all it’s the first thing that others will see, and you are also our ambassadors, so we want you to look great in your glasses. Below we have written some helpful tips on picking the perfect pair of frames for your face shape.

DISCOVERING THE PERFECT FRAMES FOR YOUR FACE SHAPE

First of all, you need to think about what your face shape is. There are guides all over the internet to help you do this. Click here to see an example.

FOR SQUARE FACE SHAPES

If you have a square face shape, then thin and round frames will be perfect. A square face has very angular features, such as a wide forehead and a strong jawline. Because of this, it is best to choose frames that soften your angles, such as a curved or circular frame, which are thinner.

FOR ROUND FACE SHAPES

For rounder faces, angular frames often work well. Angular frames complement the roundness of the face and make the eyes stand out. Other frames for your face shape that works for rounder faces is the retro cat eye frames with thicker rims.

FOR HEART-SHAPED FACES

For heart-shaped faces, rectangular frames work well. Heart-shaped faces often have high cheekbones and a tapered jawline, so frames slightly wider than your forehead will suit you better. Another option is the cat-eye frames. They will highlight your prominent cheekbones and balance out the rest of your face.

FOR OVAL FACE SHAPES

For oval face shapes, a thinner round frame will work best. However, many different glasses frames will work with this face shape. Round glasses or aviator-style frames will complement oval faces. They will bring your features to the forefront and add an extra dimension.

EYEBROW SHAPE

The top of the frame, or brow bar, that follows the contour of your eyebrows will also compliment the final look.

WHAT COLOUR Glasses are RIGHT FOR ME?

Once you have figured out the shape of your frames for your face shape, you will have to decide on the colour. Neutral frames, such as black, brown, and tortoise, make popular choices because they match almost any hair colour, eye colour, and skin tone.

WHAT COLOURS MATCH MY EYES?

  • Blue eyes – orange will make your eyes pop. Tortoiseshell and blue, however, will also look good if you are looking for more neutral shades.
  • Brown– you are lucky because any colour will look good with brown eyes.
  • Grey – a colourful frame will complement grey eyes the best.
  • Green eyes – red, purple, or brown tones
  • Hazel – green, brown, and amber frames

WHAT COLOURS MATCH MY HAIR?

  • Black hair – darker frames like black or tortoise
  • White/grey hair – colourful
  • Red hair – colourful or black
  • Brown – brown/ black
  • Blonde – pastel colours or tortoise
